DescriptionMr Macaulay resigns his office of Paymaster of the Forces, not having found a seat in Parliament. Will Queen Victoria fix the day for Investiture? Accounts favourable to internal peace in Ireland, but much discontent exists, and is springing up also in England. Lord Granville's contemplated appointment as Vice-President of the Board of Trade, may be reconsidered with a view to the strength of Government. An election in Yorkshire should be avoided.
