DescriptionLord Clarendon recommends Dr Hindes as Bishop of Cork. Russell says that as he is an Englishman the appointment may raise an outcry. Russell thinks it well to confer the Irish Peerage now vacant, and suggests Sir Patrick Bellew, a Roman Catholic. No Irish Peerage has been conferred on a Roman Catholic since the Union.
