DescriptionThe Duke of Leinster does not wish for the Garter. Russell therefore recommends Earl Fitzwilliam, and Clarendon concurs. Lord Clarendon was not aware that it was usual to ask for an Audience, and awaited Queen Victoria's commands. He asks for an Audience now. Russell recommends Mr Vaughan as Professor of History at Oxford.
