DescriptionSir William Parker declines going to the Board of Admiralty, because of the state of his eyesight. Russell therefore suggests Sir Charles Adam. John William, 4th Earl of Bessborough, has returned from Ireland. Lord Grey proposed a grant of £30,000 for sufferers of the fire at Newfoundland. Macaulay's success removes all doubt of re-election of Ministers. Sir Edward Coddrington anxious that his son should be an equerry. Russell will propose his plan regarding Sugar Duties to the Cabinet. Confident of his ability to carry it in the Commons, and will propose it there on Monday, if Queen Victoria approves.
