Lord Ellenborough acknowledges receipt of 35 decorations of the Order of the Bath awarded by Queen Victoria for services in India. He writes that two of the officers decorated have since died on the field, Lieutenant Colonel ?Sardias of the Bengal Engineers and Major Crommelin of the 1st Light Cavalry.
