DescriptionAn account of the experience of Private Henry Allen of the Scotch Fuzilier Guards' during the attempt on Queen Victoria's life. He describes being in St James's Park, walking towards Buckingham Palace and seeing the prisoner standing near the Pump on Constitution Hill. He saw him present a pistol at the carriage towards Queen Victoria's head.
